Temperatures are expected to reach around 100 degrees or higher. If you are attending an outdoor event, bring plenty of water, take breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and keep an eye on children and pets.

TOADIES AT JOSABI’S

Saturday, August 22 Doors open at 6 p.m.Show begins at 8 p.m. Josabi’s 17200 TX-16 N., Helotes

Toadies take over Josabi’s as part of The Charmer Tour, with special guest Olive Vox.

Expect a big night of Texas rock featuring new music along with the songs that made Toadies one of the state’s most recognizable rock bands.

Tickets are required. Free general parking, food, and cold drinks will be available.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21

CHEETAHLISH SUMMER SIZZLE SIP & SHOP

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Cheetahlish14436 Old Bandera Road, Old Town Helotes

Shop locally during Cheetahlish’s two-day Summer Sizzle event.

The event includes 20% off storewide, complimentary cold mimosas, and an opportunity to win a $25 gift certificate. The Sip & Shop continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

HTEAO GAMEDAY GALLONS

HTeaO is offering two gallons of tea for $12 as part of its Gameday Gallons promotion. The promotion is also scheduled for Friday, August 28.

O’CONNOR PANTHER BAND HOT DOG HOWDY

6 p.m. O’Connor High School Band Pad 12221 Leslie Road, Helotes

The O’Connor Panther Band will debut part of this year’s show while attendees enjoy dinner and help support the band program.

A meal with one sausage hot dog, chips, and a drink is $6. A meal with two sausage hot dogs, chips, and a drink is $10.

The sausage hot dogs are provided by Schott’s Meat Market and the Helotes Fire Department. Kona Ice and The Meadows will also be there. Concessions are cash or check only.

CAMRYN MARIE AT STETSON’S

Kick off Friday night with Camryn Marie performing live at Stetson’s.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22

FLY DANCE FITNESS ALAMO RANCH FIRST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fly Dance Fitness Alamo Ranch

Fly Dance Fitness Alamo Ranch is celebrating its first birthday with local vendors, giveaways, and activities with the Fly community.

Local businesses and vendors that supported the studio during its first year are also invited to participate. There is no vendor fee.

HELOTES HUMANE SOCIETY FOOD DRIVE AND ADOPTION EVENT

The Helotes Humane Society will have adoptable animals at the event while collecting food donations for the animals in its care.

Stop by to meet the animals and, if you are able, bring pet food to help stock the organization’s shelves.

LOW-COST PET VACCINE CLINIC

12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Pet’s Barn Helotes 12510 Bandera Road, Suite 104, Helotes

Vanguard Veterinary Associates will bring its mobile clinic to Pet’s Barn for routine vaccinations and preventative pet care.

SUMMER ROCK OUT AT STETSON’S

Activities begin around 5 p.m.Stetson’s Helotes 11881 Bandera Road

Keep the weekend going with live music, music bingo, DJ Rude boi, and DJ Psicx. The posted schedule lists activities beginning around 5 p.m., with DJs performing later in the evening.

COMING UP

IN A PICKLE FESTIVAL

Two days of pickle-themed food, entertainment, contests, the Pickle Olympics, and more are coming to Helotes.

A NIGHT OUTSIDE OLD TOWN

Comedy, live music, bingo, and a fun night out are coming to Old Town Helotes. Tickets are available now.
