About Helotes Life

Keeping Helotes informed, connected and local.

Local news. Local events. Local businesses. Local life.

Helotes Life started with a simple idea: make it easier to know what is happening in and around our community.

What began as a local Facebook page has grown into a place for news, events, weekend plans, restaurant openings, small business spotlights, Helotes history, community conversations, and the everyday things that make this area home.

I live here, raise my family here, shop here, eat here, and care about what happens here. My goal with Helotes Life is to share as much useful and accurate information as possible, support the people and businesses that make our community special, and help residents stay connected.

I am not a large news organization, and Helotes Life is not affiliated with the City of Helotes. It is an independent, community-focused local platform. When it comes to news and developing stories, accuracy matters. I make every effort to verify information before presenting it as fact.

Whether you are looking for something to do this weekend, wondering what is being built down the road, trying a new restaurant, supporting a local business, or just keeping up with what is happening around town, I hope Helotes Life can be a place you come back to.

Thanks for being part of Helotes Life.

Who’s Behind Helotes Life?

I’m Mike, the person behind Helotes Life.

Helotes is home for my family and me, and it’s a community I care deeply about. I work full time, raise two daughters, and somehow still find time to keep up with what’s happening around town.

I started Helotes Life because I enjoy knowing what’s going on, finding the stories people might otherwise miss, and helping local businesses and events get a little more attention.

Most of what you see here is researched, written, posted, updated, and managed by me. I’m not a newsroom with a staff behind the scenes. It’s just one local guy trying to keep up with a growing community and share useful information along the way.

If you ever have a story idea, event, business update, old Helotes photo, news tip, or something you think people should know about, I want to hear from you.

Thanks for following along and helping Helotes Life grow.
